Laozi's 道 Dao and λόγος Logos of John, Philo, and Heraclitus.




The idea that hidden behind the ever-changing dynamic actions of the universe is some indescribable constant, never-changing, source happened in the East and the West.


In the East, it was the Dao, something that just was, something that existed before anything else. In the West, it was Logos, which is The Word in the Gospel of John, the never-changing logic of the material world, operating as the expression of one God, who exists outside of space and time.
